the Farm

The Farm Casa Ercole produces extra virgin olive oil, fruit, vegetables and aromatic herbs, all of which are grown organically. The birds and butterflies in the area certainly know this as they are always present in large numbers.

“Ercole” or “Hercules” is certainly an appropriate name for our land since it takes an enormous amount of effort to maintain. But while the fruits of our labor may not come easily, everything we make has a very special flavor. Our olive oil is scented with notes of fresh grass and stays bright green for over a year. The quince and blackberry marmalades along with the aromatic herbs all have particularly intense flavors.

The farm is small and we take care of everything ourselves. You are welcome to observe us at work in the olive groves or in the vegetable garden. We are happy to tell you about our farming techniques.

The magnificent landscape makes Casa Ercole a perfect place for farmstays. The view, in any direction you choose, is breathtaking:  rolling hills that gently fade into the distance where one can make out the white towers of San Gimignano. There are many places to choose from on the property to relax, read and “just be”. Several shady places are made up with tables, chairs and chaise lounges.

We welcome you to try our home cooking! At Casa Ercole our passion for the plants, olives, vegetables and flowers finds it full expression on the dining table in a variety of traditional local recipes. You may also buy our products, such as extra virgin olive oil, as well as seasonal fruit and aromatic herbs.

We offer accomodations for 4 people in the Tower apartment, to which may be added a third bedroom so that it may sleep up to 6 people. The tower apartment is upstairs and the extra room is on the ground floor. Another room, the Terrace room, sleeps 2, has a large terrace and is wheelchair accessible.

Total capacity at Casa Ercole is 8 people.

Every room has been carefully restored and comfortably furnished.
