Azienda Agricola Casa Ercole

Casa Ercole is located in the Chianti Classico hills between Greve in Chianti and Panzano, just about midway between Florence and Siena (30km each way). Strategically located and easy to reach many other important places in Tuscany.

The farm sits atop the crest separating the Pesa and the Greve valleys and is surrounded by ancient hill towns rich with history and traditions. Traces of ancient settlements still exist nearby, such as the Etruscan site at the Castello di Montefili and the Roman place names like “Hercules” (Ercole), “Ercoluzzo”, and “Sulla” (Sillano).

The large stone house was originally built as a watch tower sometime in the 12th century. Additions were made over many centuries until it finally reached its current size in the 1800s with two wings opening on to a central yard.

We offer a 2 bedroom apartment that sleeps four, but can connect to another room which sleeps two. These three rooms are upstairs. Then, we also have a ground floor room with easy access that sleeps two.

After you experience the main garden and the panoramic terrace, you may also take a pretty walk through the vegetable garden, the aromatic herb nursery, and the olive grove. At sunset, you may very likely spot a deer, a porcupine, or fox enjoying their natural habitat.

The sumptuous view of the Chianti hills has a magic all of its own as the continuously changing light keeps opening up new vistas onto the horizon.
